The Flood and Noah
"Consequently Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. And Jehovah felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart. So Jehovah said: "I am going
to wipe men whom I have created off the surface of the ground, from man to domestic animal, to moving animal and to flying creature of the heavens, because I do regret that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah." - Genesis 6:5-8
... Thus he wiped out every existing thing that was on the surface of the ground, from man to beast, to moving animal and to flying creature of the heavens, and they were wiped off the earth; and only Noah and those who were with him in the ark kept on surviving." - Genesis 7:11-24   (CLICK for complete scriptural reference; see also Genesis 8:13-17)

Sodom and Gomorrah
  • "Consequently Jehovah said: "The cry of complaint about Sod'om and Go·mor'rah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy."" - Genesis 18:20

    Dead Sea
  • ... "The sun had gone forth over the land when Lot arrived at Zo'ar. Then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sod'om and upon Go·mor'rah. So he went ahead overthrowing these cities, even the entire District and all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the ground.

... Now Abraham made his way early in the morning to the place where he had stood before Jehovah. Then he looked down toward Sod'om and Go·mor'rah and toward all the land of the District and saw a sight. Why, here thick smoke ascended from the land like the thick smoke of a kiln! " - Genesis 19:1-29   (CLICK for complete scriptural reference)
The Conclusion of the System of Things
... "While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?"
... for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.
... For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be." - Matthew 24:1-44   (CLICK for complete scriptural reference)
