Everlasting Life ... then Death?

   God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them. God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
   - Genesis 1:27-28  (WEB)

   Yahweh God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it. Yahweh God commanded the man, saying, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die."
   - Genesis 2:15-17  (WEB)

To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and ate from the tree, about which I commanded you, ... By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return." - Genesis 3:17-19  (WEB)

Faith = Everlasting Life

  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:16  (WEB)

  • But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart"; that is, the word of faith, which we preach: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:8-9  (World English Bible)

New Heavens and a New Earth

3 in the last days mockers ... 4 saying, "Where is the promise of his coming?
   8 But don't forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count

slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ...
13 But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
